FLT Driver Training, Fork Lift Truck Training Courses Scotland UK
At DTR Services, we can train private individuals or company staff, based on whatever your requirements are.
We carry out Fork Lift Truck (FLT) Training to RTITB standard. These courses cover from 1 day refresher to novice training (normally 5 days), depending on the needs of the company or individual.
We can cover Counterbalance, Reach, Pallet and Platform Trucks, Rough Terrain Masted, Rough Terrain Telescopic, Side Loader, Moffat Mounty, Piviot, and Telehandler Fork Lift Trucks and also cover, Gas, Diesel and Electric Fork Lift Truck types.
The course is designed to teach the candidates how to driver Fork Lift Trucks and gain a FLT certificate as required. These courses cover from the following:
- 5 Day Course – No previous experience, complete novice
- 3 Day Course – Previous experience in using a FLT
- 1 Day Course – Refresher course for those candidates who hold a FLT Certificate
These courses can be carried out either at our Training Centre in Newtongrange (just outside Edinburgh), or on your own premises. We can even provide and hire in an extra Fork Lift Truck if required for the day/s. So either way, whether you come to us, or our trainers come to your premises, we have a course to suit your needs.
Our one day course, can also act (if required and does depend on the candidates experience) as a conversion course from one certificate to another (e.g.: Counterbalance to Reach).

- Applicants are taught advanced methods of driving with particular attention to vehicle fuel economy. Usual benefits to company's are a reduction in accident damage to vehicles and increased MPG per vehicle & driver.
- Tachograph's and Vehicle Loading
- Effective use of Tachographs and the legal aspects of the driver hours regulations, regards the Working Time Directive (WTD). Both Analogue and Digital courses can be carried out as required.
