LGV Driver Training Courses, Scotland & UK
At DTR Services, we can train private individuals or company staff, based on what your requirements are. Our Instructors are DSA (Driving Standards Agency) Registered. These are the standards that we train to.
Using our training vehicles we can help with from C1 (7.5T), Category C or Category C+E for LGV training with courses from 3, 5 and 7+ day courses based on the needs and requirements of the individual student. This includes full practical instruction in our training vehicles, allied to instruction on the theory test. ALL OF OUR VEHICLE TRAINING IS PROVIDED ON A ONE TO ONE BASIS. This is not always the case with our competitors.
DTR Services are also delighted to say that we are now Mercedes Benz Associates for CPC Driver Training. Mercedes Benz are offering CPC Driver Training from the 10th September 2009 and we are proud to announce that we will be carrying this training out, with courses based in both Glasgow and Edinburgh. For any individuals or companies in Edinburgh, Lothians, Borders, Glasgow, Fife, Stirling, Falkirk and Ayrshire, we would be delighted to speak with you regarding what your options are for CPC Driver Training.

There are a variety of courses and modules available to suit your needs and we are running these courses, both during the week and at the weekend. These modules are primarily classroom based, but there are 2 modules that also have an incab element to them as well. All modules are attendence only for passing and a certificate will be issued per module after its completion. We will also carry out the upload of the drivers details to the DSA.
CPC Driver Training, comes into force in September 2009 and applies to anyone driving any vehicle over 3.5T. Drivers must undertake 35 hours of training every 5 years in order to meet the CPC requirement and retain their driving licence.
We are also able to offer for LGV drivers who have just passed their test, or as returning LGV drivers, Driver Refresher Training which can also cover courses on Vehicle Tachograph procedures (both Digital and Analogue) to City & Guilds Standards.
DTR Services can also carry out the Category B+E training on request. (If test passed after 1st of January 1997).
- LGV Category C and C+E Training
- Candidates are taught to drive to DSA Test Standard. There are 3, 5 and 7 Day Driving Courses available, depending on the standard and experience of the applicant.
- PCV D and D1 Training
- Candidates are taught to drive to DSA Test Standard. There are 3, 5 and 7 Day Driving Courses available, depending on the standard and experience of the applicant.
- H.I.A.B. and Tail Lift Training
- To R.T.I.T.B. Standard
- SAFED Training Courses
- Applicants are taught advanced methods of driving with particular attention to vehicle fuel economy. Usual benefits to companies are a reduction in accident damage to vehicles and increased MPG per vehicle & driver.
- Tachograph's and Vehicle Loading
- Effective use of Tachographs and the legal aspects of the driver hours regulations, regards the Working Time Directive (WTD). Both Analogue and Digital courses can be carried out as required. This is carried out to City & Guilds standard.
- CPC Driver Training
- From September the 10th 2009, we will be offering a variety of modules to cover LGV CPC Driver Training. This is a mix of classroom and incab training. Please contact us for further details.
- Category B+E Training
- Category B+E training, is for car and trailer and is required if you passed your car driving test after 1997. Current legislation makes this illegal to tow a combination weight in excess of 3500 Kg Gross Vehicle weight.
